    Accessing ESS
  1. How can I access SAP ESS?
    You can access SAP ESS from
    a.  myintranet.nttdata.com > Human Resources > ESS @ NTTDATA
    b.  Attendance Management System for KWZI

  2. How do I get to know my ESS login Id and Password?
    Please get in touch with local HR team for login credentials.

  3. What should I do if:
    a.  My ESS Id / Password is locked?
    You have to wait for one day to get the ESS ID unlocked automatically (or) Please create a service request with a valid reason to unlock ESS ID.

    b.  I forget my ESS password?
    Use forgot password link available in portal.nttdata.com or send email to helpline@nttdata.com.

    c.  The system displays the error 'Initial password expired request a new one'.
    Use forgot password link available in portal.nttdata.com or send email to helpline@nttdata.com.

    d.  I want to reset my password.
    Please login to password.portal.nttdata.com and reset your password.

    e.  The system displays the error "Password logon no longer possible - too many failed attempts!".
    Please create a service request to unlock ESS ID (or) wait for one day to get the ESS ID unlocked automatically and reset your password from password.portal.nttdata.com.

  4. What are the ESS password policy / guidelines?
    Same as the Global Password Management utility tool.

  5. What should I do if an ABAP Runtime error occurs while clicking on links in ESS?
    Please create a service request with the screenshots attached.


  6. I get the message 'Personnel number < Empid > locked by user < ESSID >' when I click on certain links in ESS.
    Log out and login after 15 minutes. To avoid the above issue use 'QUIT' button while navigating between ESS links and always use Exit button found at left top while ending your session with ESS.


  7. Will I be able to access my SAP ESS from onsite?
    Yes. You can access SAP ESS through internet from anywhere.
    However, certain policy restrictions of the Client Site might restrict logon to ESS.
    Leave Management through ESS
  1. Where do I see my leave balance?
    Leave balance will appear in the link 'Display Leave Information' under 'Working Time' node of ESS.

  2. Whom do I contact if my leave balance reflecting in ESS is incorrect?
    You can contact your location HR with a screenshot of ESS leave balance.

  3. As an employee, how do I apply for leaves through SAP ESS?
    Click 'Working Time' link followed by 'Create Leave Request' link in ESS and enter the relevant data.
    Your 'Account Manager' will be reflecting as your default leave approver. To change your approver as your immediate manager, click on ' Replace' button found next to the Approver name and search for your approver name by using the Name/ESS logon ID of your approver. Use wild card search (by prefixing/suffixing *) for better results.

    Please refer to ESS user manual for further clarifications.

  4. As a leave approver, how do I approve the leave requests of my team members?
    Kindly use the following path in ESS to approve/reject leave requests.
    Office > Inbox > You can find the list of the team members who have applied leave at that time > Click on any of the work item > Execute > Approve/Reject.

  5. I cannot find my manager in the approver list in SAP, how should I raise leave in ESS(Special Situation)?
    Leave Approval process when approver belongs to NTTDATA location outside India.

    1. Employee have to send an email to the approver (Manager) with a copy to Leave Administrator (HR) (leave.administrator@nttdata.com) seeking approval for leave. The email should contain leave type, # of days of leave and the reason
    2. Approver will reply to employee approving the leave with a copy to Leave Administrator (HR) (leave.administrator@nttdata.com).
    3. Leave Administrator (HR) will record leave in SAP for the employee. The actual approver Portal Id, Name will be captured in the notes for the leave request.
    4. Leave Administrator (HR) will send a mail confirmation on leave creation in SAP to the employee and the approver.
    Employee Data Available in ESS
  1. What data is available in ESS?
    Please refer to the table (above) on location specific availability of services.

  2. Will I be able to enter my information through ESS?
    Yes. You will be able to update your information through ESS.
    Please check if your contact details reflecting in ESS are correct.
    If not, please change the same. However, information pertaining to Education and Previous Employers will be in display mode only.

  3. What should I do if the previous employer details and education details displayed in ESS is incorrect?
    Please contact your location HR. You will need to submit necessary proof of previous employer and education for the location HR to change this data.

  4. Will the data thus changed reflect in my ESS?
    Yes. The changed data will reflect in your ESS.
    General
  1. What should I do if I am getting an error on ESS page?
    Please create a service request with details.

  2. How can I access if ESS is experiencing high load on the server?
    When all of the employees try to access certain links in ESS (For example, Pay slip on the last working day of the month) all at one time, the load on the server will be very high and you will not be able to login to ESS.
    You have an option to keep trying or wait and login after few minutes when the load reduces.

  3. What to do if I am not able to see any contents under 'Skills', 'Display / Edit' Qualifications Catalog?
    Raise an Infra service request to install latest JVM (Java Virtual Machine) in your machine.

  4. While accessing some links I get the message 'Transaction locked', what should I do?
    Certain transactions like 'Payments', 'Letters' will be locked for month end processing for a few days and will be unlocked once the activity is completed.

  5. What should I do to download the pay slip when the transaction is locked?
    Please get in touch with local payroll team.

  6. What should I do, when I get the message ?You are Not Authorized to access the transaction? while trying some of the ESS links?
    The authorization to the service is not relevant. Please refer the above table for the applicable services available to you.

  7. What should I do, when I get blank PDF while accessing my pay slip?
    Please create a service request to infrastructure team and get the latest adobe reader installed in your machine.
    While at Onsite
  1. How can I see the offshore details while I am at onsite?
    Use Switch ID functionality provided in the login screen to switch between your onsite and offshore details.
    Note: Your ESS login ID always remains same while at Onsite/Offshore
